For my Fall 2022 final in Intro to Black Studies course, I interviewed two other Black college students about Black Joy. We discussed what Black Joy meant, how it showed up in their lives, what limited joy, and more.
The result was a paper and presentation on my findings. My thesis from this project is that Black Joy is an example of how Blackness transcends Eurocentric ways of being. Black Joy provides Black people with our own guidebook to reject how whiteness has instructed us to live and experience joy.
